They could not have written a better story. Although Southridge Racing Clubs Winter Downhill Series saw a low attendance, the stars showed up at Round IV. The ex-and current National Downhill Champions were there to battle it out with David Klaassen Van Oorschot, a local star, and Daniel Umland, a junior hotshot.

DAVIDKS STILL THE MARKED MASTER
The S.R.C. was able to survive two days of heavy downpours. The S.R.C. promoted was able make significant revisions to the DH race. Although it was a new course, Klaassen van Oorschot’s outstanding performances last year made him the man to beat. Even Todd Leduc and Eric Carter, champions.

What happened then? Klaassen van Oorschot (or David K, if you prefer to let your tongue rest), did it again. He beat the current National Champion by 0.25 seconds and was still the man to beat. While Daniel Umland finished third, he and Todd LeDuc, his new ODI Southridge teammate, were unable to run at the same pace for 13 seconds. They were eighth and ninth fastest respectively.

IN OTHER NEWS
XC racers were still damp from the rain and enjoyed a course that was full of incredible traction. An additional 1/2 mile was added to the course, which runs up and down the famous Terrys Climb. This gave the XC course an additional 8-1/4 mile total.

Mike Lee is the XC rider to beat at the moment. (Everyone hopes that Tinker will show up to have a battle royale.

This weekend, the DH Freestyle competitors were going all out. C. Quintero, an expert rider, was able to edge pro Garrett Bosworth by using better style and technique. The Short Track saw MBA test riders against MBA test riders as Garnet Vertican and Eddie Arnet fought it out. The race was on until the final lap when Garnet took the lead and rode for the win.
