MBA SALUTES AMATEUR WINNERS

There were many great things about the Snow Summit National weekend, including amazing racing, new faces on podiums, a fast-paced program, and great turnout. But there was one thing that stood out. It was the new National race format.

GRASSROOTS FRIENDLY
This new format was created by Team Big Bears Tom Spiegel and Pat Follett. The new 03 NCS schedule is more appealing for professionals, amateurs, and industry as well as spectators.
Imagine you were interested in racing cross country. Even though you had to get up at an alarm, it was possible for you to make it to the race on Saturday morning. Then, after the race, there was plenty of time to meet the stars and chat with them as they prepared for the noon XC start. There was always action on the course, with both pro men and women.
You can make your way to the mountain cross and watch the pros practice after the awards. The Pro Finals began at 6 p.m.
You don’t know what you are missing if you haven’t seen the pros race mountaincross.

BEHOOVED AMATURS
The new scheduling brings amateur racing closer to the professional action. Amateurs were able to race on the same courses as the pros. It was easier to mix with pros and amateurs. You can meet Eric Carter, Brian Lopes and Roland Green at your race day.
This schedule, with minor modifications, will be used at Snowshoe, Mount Snow and Durango Nationals.
