CHAIN SKIPPING. SRAM CASSETTES

Recently, I developed a problem with chain skipping. Before this, I had shifing issues. SRAM cassette, SRAM chain and XT derailer. New housing and shifter cable. The chain slips and crunches under pressure and steep climbs. It sounds terrible. It is a complete mystery to me. It shifts great otherwise. Help!!! How can carbon fiber survive a crash, by the way? It seemed strong in one direction, but not in the other. Thank you, I love the magazine. It is Christmas, if it appears every month.
RC: Try loosening the B screw that contacts the derailleur hanger underneath the main derailleur pivot. Place your bike in the lowest gear (small cog and large ring) and then loosen the screw so that the upper pulley touches the cog. This will ensure maximum chain overlap and hopefully stop skipping. If this doesn’t work, you can borrow another wheel with a new cogset to see if the wheel skips using different sprockets. There have been a few cases of SRAM cassettes that were not working properly. We have snapped three of the Carbon pulley cages on SRAMs midlength X.O derailleur. The one break was caused by a short cable that broke the cage when a test rider moved into the large ring/large cog combination.
